PVC windows: good insulation, little maintenance
PVC (uPVC) windows insulate well, need almost no maintenance and are not affected by salt air. That makes them a sensible choice for many homes in Jávea, Moraira, Dénia and the surrounding villages, from villas to apartments. We measure, supply and install them made to measure.
When to choose PVC
PVC is a good fit if:
- insulation against heat, cold and noise is your priority;
- you want windows that only need washing;
- you are looking for good value for money;
- the openings are of normal size rather than very wide glass walls.
PVC on the coast
Sun and UV
Good PVC profiles are made to withstand UV. Under the strong Spanish sun, white and light colours stay coolest and most stable. Darker foil finishes are possible; we discuss with you where they make sense.
Salt air and humidity
PVC does not rust or corrode, so salt in the air is no problem for the frame itself. The hardware benefits from an occasional clean.
Insulation and noise
Multi-chamber profiles insulate well. With good glass and seals, PVC windows keep the house cooler in summer, warmer on winter evenings and noticeably quieter.
Large openings
PVC frames are wider than aluminium ones. For very large sliding doors or glass walls, aluminium is usually the better choice, and plenty of owners combine the two.
Maintenance
Washing the frames with water and a mild cleaner a few times a year is usually all it takes. Avoid scouring products, keep the drainage openings clear and lubricate the hardware now and then.
Where PVC works well
PVC is practical for bedrooms and bathrooms, for apartments and for homes that are rented out, where low maintenance counts. It is also a sensible way to replace the old single-glazed windows of a villa when you want comfort without making the frames a design feature.
What you can expect
We visit, measure every opening and advise on profile, colour and glass. You receive a clear quote in writing. Once you agree, we ask for a deposit and order the windows, which are made to measure and delivered to your home. Our fitters install them and we check everything with you before you pay the balance.
We price PVC windows after measuring; the prices page explains what affects the cost. You can also compare aluminium and wood, or read the windows overview.
Frequently asked questions
Does PVC turn yellow in the sun?
Good-quality profiles are made to withstand UV and keep their colour. White and light colours handle strong sun best.
Is PVC strong enough for larger windows?
Yes, for normal window sizes; larger PVC frames are reinforced on the inside. For very wide sliding doors or glass walls we usually advise aluminium.
What does a PVC window cost?
We give PVC prices after measuring, because size, glass, colour and hardware make a big difference. Our prices page explains what affects the price.
Can PVC look like wood?
Yes, there are foil finishes with a wood look. In strong sun we discuss with you which colours are sensible.
