Aluminium windows for homes on the Costa Blanca

Aluminium is the material you see most on modern villas between Dénia and Moraira, and for good reason: slim frames, large panes and a profile strong enough for wide openings to the terrace. We supply and install made-to-measure aluminium windows in Jávea, Moraira, Dénia and the villages nearby.

When to choose aluminium

Aluminium suits most modern homes, and it is at its best where the openings are large. It is a good fit if:

  • you want slim frames and as much glass as possible;
  • the house has wide openings or sliding doors to the terrace;
  • you like a modern look, in anthracite, black, white or another colour;
  • you want windows that need little maintenance.

Sun, salt and sea air

  1. Sun and UV

    Aluminium does not warp in strong sun. The finish is what has to last: a good powder coating or anodised layer keeps its colour for a long time. Dark frames do get warmer in direct sun, something to weigh up on south- and west-facing sides.

  2. Salt air and humidity

    Aluminium does not rust, but salt can affect the coating and the hardware over time. Near the sea we advise a finish intended for coastal locations, and rinsing the frames with fresh water now and then.

  3. Insulation

    Plain aluminium conducts heat. That is why we work with thermally broken profiles: an insulating strip separates the inside of the frame from the outside. With the right glass, that keeps heat out in summer and in on winter evenings.

  4. Large openings

    Aluminium is stiff, so frames stay slim even with wide, heavy panes. That is the main reason it is used so often for terraces with a view and for sliding doors.

  5. Noise

    How quiet a room becomes depends mostly on the glass and the seals. If the house is near a busy road or in a lively part of town, we take that into account when choosing the glass.

Maintenance

Aluminium windows need little care, but not none. Rinse frames and glass a few times a year with fresh water and a mild cleaner, more often if you live close to the sea. Keep the drainage channels at the bottom of the frame free of sand and dust, and give hinges and locks a drop of suitable lubricant from time to time. That keeps the windows running smoothly for years.

Typical use in Costa Blanca villas

In practice we see aluminium most on villas with a terrace and pool: a wide sliding door to the terrace, large fixed panes facing the view, and matching windows in the rest of the house. It also works well in apartments where you want plenty of light, provided the community of owners agrees to any change to the façade.

What you can expect

We start with a conversation, by phone or at the house. Then we measure every opening precisely and prepare a proposal with profiles, colour, glass and timing. You receive a clear quote; once you agree, we ask for a deposit and order the windows. They are made to measure and delivered straight to your home, our fitters install them neatly, and you pay the balance at handover.

Frequently asked questions

Does aluminium corrode near the sea?

Aluminium does not rust the way steel does. Salt can affect the coating and the hardware over time, so near the sea we advise a finish intended for coastal locations and rinsing the frames with fresh water now and then.

Do aluminium windows insulate well?

Yes, if the profiles are thermally broken and the glass is well chosen. Older aluminium windows without a thermal break insulate poorly, which is a common reason to replace them.

Which colours can I choose?

Aluminium comes in many colours. Anthracite, black and white are the usual choices on villas here. We show you the options when we prepare the proposal.

Is aluminium suitable for large sliding doors?

Yes. It is the most common material for wide sliding doors, because the frames stay slim even with large, heavy panes. See our page on sliding doors.
